GW joined the Department in the July of 2014 were teaches two classes: one in the fundamentals of stage lighting, and the other in sound design and production. He also serves as the Lighting and Sound Studio Supervisor where he manages all things lighting and sound related for University Theatre Productions and Operations.
Starting his love for theatre in high school, GW has gone on to work all over the country at places such as: South Coast Repertory, Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts (PCPA), Utah Shakespeare Festival, Huntington Theatre Company, Olney Theatre Center, and many others.
Although GW is a very adept lighting technician and designer, his focus is in sound design and composition for the theatre, film, studio, and video games. His love for sound design and engineering has drove him to learn complex sound systems like LCS, programming creative sound software such as Max/MSP, and even diving into computer programming learning 7 different languages (C, C++, Objective-C, etc.).
GW holds a B.A. in technical theatre from the University of California San Bernardino, and a M.F.A. in sound design at Boston University.
